Fundraising

Phase 1

In order to provide funding for Phase one, the Swiss students pitched their idea to members of the Forum Finance Group - a Swiss independent wealth management company. They were so impressed with their drive and determination that they generously sponsored both Phase 1 and 2 as well as agreeing to provide financial literacy workshops - a topic close to their heart. In addition, UEFA Foundation for Children were also impressed with the student's ideas and donated a small sum to kick start the project. Senior members of UEFA donated equipment and signed memorabilia and Marcus Vieth from Futgoal also gave some signed memorabilia as well of five of his Futgoal games. In addition, parents and friends of the Ecolint community donated money, food and signed items to contribute to the Swiss student's hefty fundraising goal.

Phase 2

The period between October and April was an extremely busy one for the students. At Christmas they raised a considerable amount of money by running a raffle of signed memorabilia for the Ecolint community. In addition they held football related games for young children at the Christmas fair for which they had to pay to enter. In March they held an evening event for parents entitled 'Sports, Success and Financial Planning' in conjunction with members of the Forum Finance and the Sports+ program at Ecolint. When the weather improved, they organized a Parents vs Teachers vs Students 7 aside tournament which was a great community event. 'Give them a Sporting Chance' generously donated funds in support which went a long way to reaching the fundraising total and IATA helped with funding the transportation for all participants via their own raffle with their employees. Each member of the Swiss FOOTBALL4iMPACT team also had their individual targets of 700chf to raise which they did so via dog walking, car washing, odd jobs and bake sales.
